How to migrate Sage 50 to Odoo

Upload a Sage 50 Accounts data export to OLaunch and it converts the ledger history into Odoo: customers, suppliers, invoices, bills, payments and bank transactions. Each run comes with reports that tie Odoo back to Sage. Practice runs are free, and you pay one fixed price per database at go-live.

Works with Sage 50 Accounts, the desktop edition used in the UK. Updated .

Before you start

Three things to sort out first

  • Agree the cut-over date with the client, usually the end of a month or a financial year.
  • Reconcile the Sage bank accounts up to that date.
  • Check which country's chart of accounts the client uses, so Odoo is set up with the matching localisation.
Step by step

Migrating Sage 50 to Odoo in 6 steps

  1. 1

    Create a free partner account

Sign up to OLaunch as an Odoo partner. Practice runs and demos are free.

  2. 2

    Connect the client's data

The client exports their data from Sage 50 and uploads it through a link co-branded with your logo.

  3. 3

    Run the conversion

OLaunch builds the Odoo database with the client's history in it. Most databases finish in 30 minutes to 12 hours, and you get an email when it's done.

  4. 4

    Check the verification reports

Every run produces reports that compare Odoo with the source system. Go through them with the client's accountant.

  5. 5

    Rehearse with the client

Use the converted database to show the client their own data in Odoo, train their team and rehearse go-live. Run the conversion again as often as you need.

  6. 6

    Go live

Run a final conversion at the cut-over date. You pay one fixed fee per database when you keep it for go-live or export it to your own servers.
